UP CLOSE WITH MUZIWAKHE SITHOLE

Muziwakhe Phillip Sithole is a 32 year old young man from EMakhosini Area, in Kwazulu Natal. Early in 2015 he had a meeting with  Sipho Buthelezi  and Thandeka Buthelezi because they had a vision to start a "GOSPEL GROUP" They made an apointment to meet with Muziwakhe because he is a well known good pianist with both the passion and understanding of music. The meeting had a positive outcome, Muziwakhe joined hands with Sipho and Thandeka to bring the Mighty Rooted Voices vision to life. He could not have been happier.

Muziwakhe believes that the crucial elements in a gospel musician is to respect everyone, young and old, loving the Lord, oneself and others plus believing in oneself because the Lord created everyone for a purpose. Through our lives we give one another life which is God's purpose. Like in a fire, a single log cannot make a fire but a bundle of wood logs makes a good fire, an individual on one's own can do good but a group working towards the same goal do wonders, he says.

In five years from now, Muziwakhe believes that Mighty Rooted Voices would have blessed so many souls, young and old and spread the Word of God through music all over the world.

The verse he lives by is the one that says:"Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom."The success is in Him, Muziwakhe says.

Muziwakhe is currently reading two books: uHambo lomhambi and Incwadi yesethembiso.

Muziwakhe says that the whole Abba Baba album has a special place in his heart, but he would like everyone who may not have time to listen to the whole album take time to listen to the track titled UNgenzelakonke Nqaba yami. You can purchase the song or stream  from Google Play by following the link below:

The group manager requested him to come and assist with the keyboard, he was pleased to receive this request and he grabbed it with both hands. Zithulele played to impress, gave it all he is and all he had so he could leave a lasting impression. This is how his lasting relationship with Mighty Rooted Voices came to life.

When the blogger first heard him sing she could not believe he had that voice.

Nkosikhona joined Mighty Rooted Voices simply for the pure love of gospel music. He loves farming and he sees gospel music as means of planting a good seed in the hearts of our community and the world at large.  He is leading in some songs and he is a backing tenor in others.

Mighty Rooted Voices in Competition

The Deeply Rooted in Gospel Mighty Rooted Voices

Mighty Rooted Voices

How did you come up with the name?

The name Mighty Rooted Voices name is inspired based on the days we are living in, considering the word Mighty-Greek name Dunamis which can be briefly defined as supernatural working power; Rooted inspired by the agricultural, natural form of a tree whose strength lies in its roots being firmly planted and deeply rooted in the soil, the group is rooted in the Word of God in order to produce fruits and their Voices are at the core of inspiring; sharing the Living Word and winning souls. The Mighty Rooted Voices sings in psalms and hymns to proclaim the Word of the Lord that dwells in us.

Please, tell us more about the music by the Mighty Rooted Voices?

Our debut album is titled Akekho Onjengawe(Abba Baba). We worked on it from 2015 only to release it in 2016. The album received good support from the public, it received airplay on radio and local television channel. We also received lots of invitations from different churches, events organizers and organizations for live performances throughout KZN. We are now working on being of service to others outside our province and away from our own country too. We are ready and well prepared for it.

How did the group manage to attract and keep its youthful members?

No one is taken for granted. We work as a team, respect and good communication is what keeps us working well together. We are only competing with ourselves, always working on being the better people today than we were yesterday. That's one of the things we have learned that separate the winners from the losers.

Do you or any of Mighty Rooted Voices group members possess any music business management skills?

God, being good to us all the time we were granted an opportunity to attend KUMISA Music Artist Management Master Class. Two of us attended: Nkosikhona Mhlongo and myself. The master class changed the way we do business, it introduced us to a skill set and knowledge that we would not have otherwise figured out on our own. It groomed us as artists plus connected us to a strong support system and a music business network that has become quite useful in our ever evolving music business. We can now proudly and confidently boast that we possess intergrity, exellence and professionalism that a group of our magnitude deserves.

Have you ever shared the stage with well known gospel musicians from anywhere?

We have shared the stage with lots of great names in the South African gospel music scene, our list includes: Thobekile, Fikile Mlomo, Thina Zungu, Babo Ngcoboo, Sphumelele Mbambo (from Joyous Celebration), Bonakele, Senzo Mlotha , Solly Mahlangu, Thokozani Langa, Sgwili, Andile Mbili, Izinceku (who made us proud at The Durban Essence Festival 2016), AmaQhawe Ezulu, the recently passed on Sfiso Ncwane and many more. As South Africans we know that these are the creme de la creme of Gospel music industry here.

Do you ever get involved in any programmes that address serious social issues?

We are from KwaZulu Natal, a land of milk and honey but not everyone has the milk or honey. We are a team who believes that there is always something that each and everyone of us can contribute towards helping one another. We work closely with local authorities, assisting in poverty alleviation programmes, drugs awareness campaigns, Women and Child Abuse Awareness and fighting against Crime. We spread a message of hope,we encourage our people to never give up hope or give up on themselves no matter how difficult things may be. No situation continues forever. It all passes in time.

What is a verse you live by?
New Heart English Bible - Psalms 84 vs 6
Passing through the valley of Weeping, they make it a place of springs. Yes, the autumn rain covers it with blessings.

We have heard that last year you received some awards, what are they?

We received two awards for Best Group of the Year. We are really grateful for it!
